Typically seen in an energetic, fiery, and rajasic light, the subtler qualities of tamas guna can be missed rather than utilized in the sense of earth grounded intention and slowing down as our practice shifts or changes. Foundations and Alignment
This class is dedicated to the study and development of postural foundations, alignment of your limbs, and spinal activity. Using select postures we will spend time tuning into this practice as individuals, and how the foundational aspects of muscular activation and awareness can reveal a deep well of inspiration from which to grow your practice intelligently and intentionally.
Tamasic Approach to a Rajasic Practice
It’s not common to recognize how your daily practice can offer possibilities to help you to slow down, rest, and focus on stilling your body and quieting your mind. Our theme for this class will be on replenishing your energy stores, soothing your nerves, and entering into inward states of meditation within a small selection of postures of the primary series. This class is designed to teach you how to treat these positions in a way that supports the changing phases of your time on the mat - a revelatory and useful connection.
