Aging is inevitable HOWEVER there are simple but key yoga “tools “that can contribute to a good quality of life as we age.
Yoga for Healthy Aging focuses on three important goals—increased health span, independence and equanimity. We will explore how yoga can help us develop strength, balance, flexibility, and agility through an exploration of yoga poses (asana), breath work (pranayama) and meditation. There will also be practices which help combat osteoporosis. Each week the class notes will be available after class and some suggestions for home practice included. Although aimed at people over 50 years old the sequence and poses are valuable for yogis of all ages.
